Choose the right program
A nonprofit does not have to be a registered charity to be considered.
Registered charities use the CRA-based charity path. Fire services have their own program. Other nonprofits and community groups can apply through the volunteer path when they are materially volunteer-led, community-serving and independently verifiable.

What C$0 means
The free account is a real Standard Shared hosting account.
These programs are not a coupon that expires after a few months. An approved organization receives a 10 GB Standard Shared account at C$0 while it remains eligible and completes the applicable annual review.
Website, email and databases
The account includes website hosting, hosted email, SSL, PHP, databases and WordPress support. Site files, databases and hosted mail share the 10 GB account storage limit.
Manual verification before activation
Free hosting is not provisioned merely because a form was submitted. DotMoose verifies the organization and separately verifies that the applicant is authorized to act for it.
Annual review keeps the program for active organizations
Charity, fire-department and volunteer eligibility is rechecked annually. If a review becomes overdue, the program uses a 30-day grace period before a review-specific suspension can occur.
Additional hosting needs can be reviewed
One free account is the default. A separate legitimate project can be considered for an additional free account, but extra entitlements require manual approval and are never self-issued.

Which free-hosting path applies?
Can a volunteer fire department in Canada get free website hosting?
Yes. Volunteer fire departments have their own DotMoose program and do not need to become a registered charity to apply. DotMoose verifies that the department is legitimate and verifies the applicant's authority separately.
Can a Canadian nonprofit apply if it is not a registered charity?
Possibly. The charity program is specifically for organizations with current CRA Registered status, but a legitimate volunteer-led community organization can use the separate volunteer application path for case-by-case review.
Is a domain name free too?
The fire-department and volunteer programs cover the approved hosting account, not a blanket free-domain entitlement. The registered-charity program has separate published domain-benefit rules. Read the specific program page and terms before applying.
Why does DotMoose verify organizations manually?
Free hosting still consumes storage, mail, support and operational capacity. Manual verification keeps the program available for real community organizations and prevents automated signups, resale and duplicate claims from consuming that capacity.
