Community volunteers

Free hosting for volunteer groups that are doing real community work.

Not every useful volunteer organization is a registered charity. Canadian volunteer-led groups can apply for a C$0 10 GB hosting account and we will review legitimate community-serving cases individually.

Apply

Case-by-case eligibility

This is intentionally broader than the registered-charity program, but it is not automatic. We verify the organization, its volunteer/community purpose and the applicant's authority.

C$0

10 GB hosting

Approved organizations receive one free Standard Shared account with website hosting, SSL, PHP, WordPress, databases and hosted email.

Annual

Reverification

Eligibility is reviewed annually so the program remains available for active volunteer organizations rather than abandoned or commercial projects.

Who this is for

Legitimate Canadian volunteer-led, community-serving organizations.

Examples can include community associations, local service groups, volunteer-run clubs or projects, mutual-aid initiatives and other non-commercial community efforts that can be independently verified.

01

Volunteer-led and community-serving

The organization must have a genuine public, community or member-serving purpose and rely materially on volunteers. A normal commercial business with occasional volunteers does not qualify.

02

Independent evidence

Applicants provide a public, municipal, institutional, association or other independent verification path. DotMoose may ask for additional evidence before approval.

03

Manual approval protects the program

Free service does not activate on form submission. We review eligibility and authority first, and additional free accounts require a separate legitimate purpose and approval.

Do we need to be a registered charity?

No. Registered charities should use the charity program. This application path exists specifically for legitimate Canadian volunteer organizations that may not have CRA charity status. Being incorporated or registered as a nonprofit does not automatically qualify a group; it must still be materially volunteer-led, community-serving and independently verifiable.

What does not qualify?

Personal sites, ordinary commercial businesses, reseller hosting, projects primarily benefiting one private owner, fraudulent or unverifiable groups, and uses that violate DotMoose policies do not qualify.

Are political campaigns included?

No. Candidate, party and election-campaign hosting is outside this community volunteer program.
