Community Volunteer Hosting Program Terms

Eligibility

This program is a discretionary application path for legitimate Canadian volunteer-led, community-serving organizations that do not otherwise use the registered-charity or fire-department programs. The organization must have a genuine community, public or member-serving purpose, rely materially on volunteer effort, and be independently verifiable. Approval is not automatic.

Examples and exclusions

Potentially eligible groups can include community associations, volunteer service groups, volunteer-run clubs or projects, mutual-aid initiatives and similar non-commercial community efforts. Personal websites, ordinary commercial businesses, reseller hosting, unverifiable groups, projects primarily benefiting one private owner, candidate or party election campaigns, and uses that violate DotMoose policies do not qualify.

Free service

An approved organization receives one C$0 Standard Shared community-hosting service with 10 GB total account storage, no numeric hosted-mailbox count limit within that storage quota, no plan-level traffic quota subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, SSL, PHP, WordPress support, databases, DNS and normal support.

Evidence and authority

The applicant must provide a reasonable independent verification path for the organization and its volunteer/community purpose. DotMoose separately verifies the applicant's authority to act for the organization and may request further documentation or contact an organization-controlled or institutional contact before approval.

Additional free services

DotMoose may manually approve additional C$0 services for distinct legitimate projects. Additional entitlements are never automatic, transferable or obtainable by creating another account.

Annual review and grace period

Eligibility is reviewed at least annually. A missed review receives a 30-day grace period. If eligibility is not renewed, free services may be suspended rather than silently converted into paid subscriptions. Normal data-retention and termination processes apply afterward.

Not included automatically

The free plan does not automatically include a domain, dedicated IPv4 address, paid third-party licence, VPS, dedicated server, custom development, design work or resources beyond the approved plan.

No resale, cash value or stacking

The entitlement is for the approved organization's own legitimate use. It has no cash value, may not be resold or transferred, and may not be stacked with affiliate, reseller or coupon benefits on the free service.

Abuse and changes

DotMoose may reject, suspend or terminate an application or entitlement for fraud, misrepresentation, abuse, loss of eligibility, capacity or safety concerns, or material policy violations. Program terms may be revised prospectively and material changes may require acceptance at reverification.
