Web Hosting Launch

DreamHost's current standard pricing page displays $2.89/month for the first year and says Launch auto-renews at $10.99/month after one year.

DreamHost's separate September 2026 promotion currently displays $1.99/month for the first four years and says that version auto-renews at $7.99/month after four years. The full promotional term plus taxes is charged at checkout.

DreamHost Canada is partly a location question.

Three years versus one or four years

DotMoose's current Starter launch is C$2.94/month effective for 36 months with C$105.84 due up front before tax. DreamHost currently publishes both a one-year Launch promotion and a separate four-year special. Compare total cash due, selected currency and renewal timing alongside the smallest monthly equivalent.

DreamHost's current documented data centres do not include Canada

DreamHost's current data-centre FAQ lists US East in Ashburn, Virginia; US West in Hillsboro, Oregon; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Singapore. It does not list a Canadian data centre in that current document. DotMoose Shared Hosting is hosted in Canada and billed in CAD. If Canadian workload location is a requirement, verify the actual service location; “available to Canadians” does not mean “hosted in Canada.”

Old Shared Starter comparisons are stale

DreamHost replaced its old Shared Starter/Shared Unlimited purchase lineup with the current Launch, Growth and Scale Web Hosting tiers. DreamHost's own current documentation says Shared Starter is no longer available for new purchase. Use the current Launch plan for today’s comparison because older reviews and screenshots may describe plans that are no longer sold.

DreamHost Launch allows more websites

DreamHost currently publishes 25 websites and 25 GB NVMe SSD storage for Launch. DotMoose Starter publishes one website and 10 GB storage. If you need many sites under one account, that difference is material; if you need Canadian hosting, CAD billing or the DotMoose migration path, those are separate requirements.

Email and domain benefits change after the introductory period

DreamHost currently includes 20 mailboxes free for the first three months and a domain for the first year on the observed annual offer. DotMoose Starter publishes five email accounts, while eligible MOOSE294 launch orders can include one standard non-premium .com or .ca registration at C$0 for year one while the domain bonus is active. Check the ongoing domain and email costs for the term you plan to keep.
