Decision points

Separate acquisition price from ongoing cost.

01

Two three-year acquisition offers

DotMoose's current Starter launch is C$2.94/month effective for 36 months with C$105.84 due up front before tax. HostPapa's current Essentials headline is C$2.95/month on a discounted three-year initial term. Compare the total first invoice and renewal schedule, not only the one-cent difference in the monthly equivalent.

02

Renewal matters more than the one-cent intro difference

HostPapa's current renewal table lists Essentials at C$8.99/month effective on a three-year renewal. DotMoose's normal three-year Starter total is currently C$172.51, or about C$4.79/month effective; the MOOSE294 first term still renews at the then-current ordinary three-year Starter rate. Neither provider should be compared on introductory price alone.

03

Storage and email tradeoffs

HostPapa Essentials publishes more website storage, while DotMoose Starter publishes more email accounts. Compare the workload you actually have instead of treating storage or mailbox count as a universal quality score.

04

Virtualmin or cPanel

DotMoose Standard Shared uses Virtualmin GPL. HostPapa publishes cPanel. If you already use cPanel tooling or account backups, include migration workflow and panel familiarity in the decision.

05

WordPress is a separate buying comparison

DotMoose Managed WordPress Starter is C$7.99/month on its regular monthly plan and publishes one WordPress site, 10 GB storage, pre-installation, SSL, core security updates and daily infrastructure backups. HostPapa publishes both Optimized WordPress and a separate Managed WordPress line; its current Managed WordPress Core page shows C$21.95/month on a two-year discounted term and 30 GB NVMe storage. Compare like-for-like management responsibilities before using either provider's lowest WordPress headline price.
