Decision points

Compare promotion, ongoing billing and account limits.

01

A free trial is not the same as an ongoing monthly rate

Namecheap's current main page leads with a limited free-trial presentation before a displayed monthly equivalent. Its support article publishes the regular monthly, annual and two-year prices separately. Compare the invoice after the promotion ends.

02

Namecheap's entry tier hosts more sites

Stellar publishes three websites and 20 GB SSD storage. DotMoose Starter publishes one website and 10 GB. Choose based on the number and size of sites you actually expect to operate rather than price alone.

03

Mail and databases have different published limits

Namecheap's current Stellar comparison lists 30 mailboxes and 50 MySQL databases. DotMoose Starter publishes five email accounts and two databases. Those limits matter for multi-site or mailbox-heavy accounts.

04

Control panel and hosting location differ

Namecheap publishes cPanel for Shared Hosting and offers a data-centre selector. DotMoose's standard Shared Hosting uses Virtualmin GPL and is hosted in Canada. If either panel familiarity or workload location is a requirement, verify it before moving.
