Decision points

Compare the account you will actually use.

01

Monthly price and term

DotMoose currently offers Starter on a prepaid 36-month launch term, while the regular month-to-month plan remains available. Webnames' displayed Value price is based on a new one-year purchase. Compare the checkout term and renewal conditions rather than treating two headline numbers as identical billing commitments.

02

Storage, mail and databases

DotMoose Starter publishes 10 GB storage, five mailboxes and two databases. Webnames Value publishes 5 GB SSD, 15 email accounts and 10 MySQL databases. The better fit depends on whether your constraint is site storage, mailbox count or application databases.

03

Virtualmin or Plesk

DotMoose Standard Shared uses Virtualmin GPL. Webnames publishes Plesk Obsidian. Compare the panel workflows you need for files, databases, email, DNS and application management.

04

Domain bundling

Webnames publishes an eligible free domain with hosting terms of six months or longer. DotMoose domain registration is a separate product except where a specific current promotion says otherwise. Include domain renewal terms in the real multi-year cost.

05

Migration

Before switching either direction, inventory website files, databases, mailboxes, DNS, domains, cron jobs, redirects and certificates. Test the destination before cancelling the source account.
