Valid XML structure
The checker rejects DTD/entity declarations and parses at most 1 MiB. Large valid sitemaps return a bounded partial result instead of consuming unbounded memory.
Website + SEO
Enter a hostname or a direct sitemap XML URL. The checker validates bounded XML, counts captured locations and checks whether URLs are absolute and consistent.
Result
The checker rejects DTD/entity declarations and parses at most 1 MiB. Large valid sitemaps return a bounded partial result instead of consuming unbounded memory.
Search engines expect fully qualified URLs in sitemap <loc> entries. Relative locations are called out.
URLs on another host are surfaced for review. Cross-site sitemap setups can be valid when ownership is intentionally configured.
A single sitemap may contain up to 50,000 URLs and 50 MB uncompressed; this public checker deliberately inspects a much smaller bounded sample.
