Affiliate FAQ

Affiliate program questions.

Find answers about earning commission, tracking referrals and requesting a withdrawal.

01

Is affiliate income guaranteed?

No. Affiliate results depend on the people you reach, the relevance of your recommendations, conversion, product eligibility, refunds, chargebacks, cancellations and customer retention. The program provides tools and commission terms, not a guaranteed income outcome.

02

Can I use this as a simple side hustle?

Yes. You can start with a small number of useful referrals through relationships, clients, content or communities you already have. You do not need to build a full publishing business to participate.

03

Can I build a serious business around it?

Yes, if the economics and customer value support it. The resource centre includes agency, creator and serious-business paths for partners who want to build a repeatable acquisition channel.

04

What does recurring commission mean?

The current public program pays 20% of qualifying DotMoose-operated service charges, including Shared Hosting, Backup Storage, VPS, Object Storage and Managed App Hosting, while the referred service remains eligible and active. Percentage commission follows the qualifying amount actually paid after discounts.

05

Do domains earn commission?

No. Domains are not commissionable under the current public program. You may still link to a domain guide when it genuinely helps the audience, but do not imply that the domain purchase itself earns commission.

06

What is the validation hold?

Qualifying commission remains pending for 30 days before it can become available. This gives refunds, cancellations, fraud and other invalid referral conditions time to surface before withdrawal.

07

What is the withdrawal threshold?

A minimum C$25 available affiliate balance is required before the client area exposes a withdrawal request. A request is not the same thing as a completed payout.

08

Can I refer myself?

No. Self-referrals and attempts to create artificial or circular referrals do not qualify.

09

Can I email potential customers?

Use email only where the message is appropriate and lawful for the recipient and jurisdiction. The DotMoose templates do not authorize scraping addresses, buying lists or sending unsolicited mass commercial email.

10

Do I need to disclose the affiliate relationship?

Yes. DotMoose requires affiliates to make the commercial relationship clear. The resource centre provides examples, but each affiliate remains responsible for the disclosure requirements that apply to their channel and audience.

11

Can I bid on the DotMoose name in ads?

Not without written approval. Do not bid on our trademarks, impersonate DotMoose or make an ad look like an official DotMoose message without approval.

12

Can I create coupons or discounts?

Only advertise promotions that DotMoose has actually approved and that are currently valid. Do not invent coupon codes or represent expired offers as live.

13

What happens if a customer is refunded or charges back?

Commission can be delayed, reversed or made ineligible when the underlying qualifying payment is refunded, charged back, fraudulent or otherwise invalid under the live program terms.

14

What happens when a customer cancels?

Recurring commission depends on the qualifying referred service remaining eligible. Cancellation or non-payment can end future recurring commission.

15

Does a promotion affect commission?

Yes. Commission is based on qualifying service charges actually paid after discounts, so a promotion reduces the commission during the discounted period.

16

Can agencies get custom terms?

Potentially. High-quality retained referral volume can qualify an agency, creator, publisher or strategic partner for manual review. No custom commission is guaranteed solely because a threshold is reached.

17

What metrics matter most?

Paid referrals, active qualifying services, retention, refund/chargeback quality and sustainable referred revenue matter more than raw click counts.

18

Where do I get promotional material?

Use the current templates and resources on the partner pages. Check offer terms and dates before sharing promotional material.
